Triathlon / Olympic Games

WOMEN

Triathlon was added to the games in Sydney for the first time. Distances for the Olympic Games are completely different to those of the Hawaii Ironman. Olympic triathlon begins with a 1,500-meter open-water swim; the competitors then cycle for 43 kilometers and conclude with a 10-km run. In 2020, a mixed relay event was added.
