Road Cycling (Professional) / Olympic Games
MEN 
Although the road race event was contested at the Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens and then consistently since 1928, it was not ntil 1996 that professional cyclists were allowed to participate. During that amateur era, a time-trial event was contested three times, between 1912 and 1924.
